The Cathedral City Police Department’s 911 service was responding to emergency calls again Saturday after numerous police agencies in Coachella Valley reported an outage.
The agency announced that as of 9:22 p.m. Friday, 911 service was restored for Cathedral City after an issue that began shortly after 5:40 a.m. Friday.
Those requiring emergency assistance during the outage were told to call the department’s business line at 760-770-0303 to reach a dispatcher.
The cause of the outage was not immediately known.
Indio Police shared the same message to its residents on social media.
“Our 911 system, along with several other local agencies, is currently encountering problems. We are actively working with our service provide to restore it, though the exact timeline is currently unknown,” the department stated on X.
As of Saturday morning, the Indio Police Department had not issued any update for its 911 service.
