A fire that started outside spread into a single-family house in the Mission Hills area of Los Angeles Saturday.

The fire was reported about 3 p.m. Saturday in the single-story house at 14833 W. Tuba St., between Bevis and Kester avenues, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Mark McLean.

The flames started outside and spread into the attic of the house before it was put out 25 minutes later, McLean said.

“LAFD firefighters used a well-coordinated fire attack operation and vertical ventilation techniques on the roof to prevent further extension,” he said.

Firefighters expected to remain at the scene to put out any hot spots, McLean said.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation, he said.
