A suspect has been arrested on possible burglary, weapons and hate-crime charges for allegedly stealing posters honoring Black figures on the UCLA campus, the school’s police department said Sunday.

“UCLA PD arrested 1 suspect in Haines Hall for burglary, weapons possession, stolen property and a hate crime enhancement,” the UCLA Police Department said in a post on X Sunday morning. “Linked to similar incidents under investigation since Feb 2025.”

Haines Hall houses the Ralph J. Bunche Center for African American Studies Library and Media Center.

According to the Los Angeles Times, in addition to the stolen posters, police found a stun gun, campus keys and other items.

The suspect was not identified, and it was not clear if the person was a student or an employee at the university.
