A man reportedly wearing only underwear was fatally struck by a vehicle on the San Joaquin Hills Corridor (73) in Newport Beach, authorities said Monday.
The driver who struck the man reported the crash at 9:59 p.m. Sunday, telling the California Highway Patrol that the person jumped in front of her vehicle on the southbound San Joaquin Hills Corridor at the MacArthur Boulevard exit.
All southbound lanes were stopped at 10:12 p.m. and the MacArthur on-ramp to the freeway was also shut down. The Jamboree Road on-ramp was also shut down at 10:39 p.m.
