Two drivers were hospitalized Monday when two cars crashed head-on on the Sierra Highway in Palmdale.
The crash was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 12:28 a.m. at 35738 Sierra Highway near the Pearblossom Highway.
The conditions of the two hospitalized drivers were not available, CHP Officer Elizabeth Kravig told City News Service.
A news videographer who went to the scene reported a BMW sedan became engulfed in flames, but its male driver got out and that the female driver of a Honda CRV was trapped inside the mangled SUV. It took firefighters about 20 minutes to free her from the wreckage.
The roadway was shut down while the wreckage was cleared.
