A 44-year-old man, who was one of two victims found shot to death close to Compton Creek and the Long Beach (710) Freeway, has been identified county authorities said Tuesday.
Long Beach Police Department officers responded to the area around 8:35 p.m. Wednesday to assist Long Beach Fire Department personnel who had located a body, Long Beach police said.
Luis Parra Estrada was identified as one of the victims, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner
“Upon arrival, officers located two male adult victims with gunshot wounds to the upper body,” according to a Long Beach Police Department statement.
Fire department personnel determined the men were dead and homicide detectives were summoned to investigate.
“The motive for the shooting and the circumstances of the incident are currently under investigation,” according to police, who said both men “appeared to be experiencing homelessness.”
The second man has not been identified yet.
