A 60-year-old Orange County inmate died while in custody Tuesday in the Theo Lacy Facility on Orange.

David N. Alcazar was booked Saturday by Huntington Beach police on suspicion of criminal threats, stalking and vandalism, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

Alcazar was found on the first floor of a barracks with what appeared to be self-inflicted wounds, deputies said. Alcazar was rushed to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

  1. lying naked on the floor in the what i call the hole in the Theo Lacy Facility under suicide watch was a transendental experience where i found a peace unknown during my 60+ years.

the oc sheriffs seemed a lot nicer than my hard core military dad who taught me to see the world in terms of conflict.

the inmates were my brothers in custody.

i write this reflection as a community service for those who may end up going there.
