A 47-year-old man accused of assaulting his wife at their residence in Blythe was out on bail Wednesday.

Charles Dale Andrew was booked into Blythe Jail on Aug. 3 on suspicion of injury to a spouse or cohabitant. He was released Tuesday on $50,000 bail.

According to Blythe Police Department, officers responded to a call shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 3 in the 400 block of N. Palm Drive regarding a report of domestic violence.

They found Andrew’s 33-year-old wife, who was not identified, with “several face/neck injuries” and determined Andrew was the suspect who allegedly inflicted the injuries, police said.

He drove away in a blue Honda Odyssey minivan with Arizona plates before returning to the residence later that night, and was arrested without incident, police said. The circumstance and motive behind the alleged attack was not immediately clear.

Background information on the suspect was not available.

Anyone with information about the case was urged to contact the department at 760-922-6111, or anonymously at Crime Stoppers at 760-921-2273.
