A man who allegedly brandished a firearm at passing vehicles near the Golden State (5) Freeway in Arleta Thursday was shot by Los Angeles Police Department officers.
Officers responded near Branford Street and Arleta Avenue shortly before 5 p.m. to reports of an armed man threatening motorists with a firearm, FOX11 reported, citing information from the LAPD.
Officers then shot the man and had him taken to a hospital for treatment, where he was listed in stable condition, but the extent of his injuries was not disclosed.
Details leading up to the shooting remain limited.
It was unclear if the unidentified suspect fired any rounds toward drivers or the responding officers.
