A bicyclist was killed in what Los Angeles Police Department officers are calling a hit and run collision in the Broadway-Manchester neighborhood of South Los Angeles and police Monday are searching for suspects.

Officers from the LAPD’s Southeast Division were called at approximately 1:23 am. Monday to the intersection of South San Pedro Street and East 95th Street where they found the victim, Fox 11 reported.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene, LAPD Officer Kevin Terzez told City News Service.

Terzez said the vehicle was traveling south on San Pedro when it struck the victim and drove away in an unknown direction.

According to Fox 11, the victim was collecting bottles when he was struck by the vehicle.

Video from the scene showed a large amount of debris scattered along the crime scene.

Police said the driver did not stop to render aid to the victim.

There was no vehicle description, Terzez said.
