Concerns were mounting Thursday regarding the welfare of a 74-year-old Sage man reported missing after he left home and didn’t return.

Carl Gragg was last seen Thursday night in the area of Red Mountain and Creek roads in the unincorporated rural community between Anza to the south and Hemet to the north, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Gragg’s whereabouts were unknown Thursday.

The CHP, on behalf of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, issued a “Silver Alert” covering all of Riverside and San Diego counties, asking anyone who may have seen the senior to contact authorities. Silver Alerts are specifically designated for the elderly and others considered “at-risk.”

The state of Gragg’s health was not disclosed in the alert.

Loved ones told deputies that about 11 p.m. Wednesday, he walked away from his property without saying where he was headed.

The missing man is Caucasian, 5 feet, 6 inches tall and 127 pounds. He has normal-length thinning gray hair and blue eyes and was wearing a dark-blue collared shirt, unknown pants, gray tennis shoes and a black Vietnam Veterans cap.

Anyone with information that may aid law enforcement in locating Gragg was asked to call 911.
