A 13-year-old boy who was fatally shot at a Pico Rivera gas station was identified Monday.
The shooting was reported about 11:45 p.m. Saturday in the 8800 block of Whittier Boulevard, where the child was pronounced dead at the scene, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported.
He was identified Monday by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner as Saith Toledo Mendez.
Sheriff’s officials said the suspect was seen fleeing the area on foot, and the shooting appeared to be random — with no argument or robbery occurring.
