A man and a woman have been taken into custody in connection with an outstanding arrest warrant tied to the death of a child, police announced Friday.
An operation led by detectives from the Torrance Police Department’s Detectives Division, in partnership with Community Lead Officers Team investigators, resulted in the arrest of Genna Magliocco and Charles Womack, according to the police department.
Both suspects were booked on suspicion of felony child endangerment, which resulted in the death of a girl, and were awaiting arraignment as of Friday.
No additional background information was disclosed about them.
“We take allegations of child endangerment very seriously. Our officers worked diligently to arrest these individuals, and we remain dedicated to ensuring the safety of our community and will continue to work tirelessly to protect our most vulnerable residents,” Torrance Police Interim Chief Robert Dunn said in a statement.
The police department emphasized that the safety and well-being of children in the community are a top priority for officers and investigators, and that individuals who endanger their safety will be held accountable.
