A 22-year-old woman was killed and three men were injured early Wednesday when one car ran a red light and T-boned another at a Van Nuys intersection.

The collision was reported at 1:45 a.m. Wednesday at Van Nuys and Burbank boulevards, Los Angeles Police Department Media Relations told City News Service.

A Honda Civic heading east on Burbank Boulevard ran a red light and struck the driver’s side of a Mercedes-Benz C300 traveling north on Van Nuys Boulevard near a Ralphs parking lot, police said.

The woman driving the Mercedes was pronounced dead at the scene. Family members told reporters she was 22 and was killed while on her way home from work.

A man in his 40s who was inside the Honda was taken to a hospital in critical condition, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Two other men in the Honda, both 25, were also taken to hospitals — one in serious condition and the other in fair condition with minor injuries, the LAFD said.

As police and firefighters responded, another driver rolled through police tape and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, police said.
