County authorities Thursday identified a 24-year-old woman who was killed when a car ran a red light and T-boned hers at a Van Nuys intersection.

The Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office says the victim is 24-year-old Brethya Parada.

The collision was reported at 1:45 a.m. Wednesday at Van Nuys and Burbank boulevards, Los Angeles police told City News Service.

A Honda Civic heading east on Burbank Boulevard ran a red light and struck the driver’s side of the Mercedes-Benz C300 traveling north on Van Nuys Boulevard that Parada was driving, police said.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. Family members told reporters she was killed while on her way home from work.

A man in his 40s who was inside the Honda suffered critical injuries. Two other men in the Honda, both 25, were also injured, one with serious injuries and the other with minor injuries. All three were taken to a hospital, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

As police and firefighters responded, another driver rolled through police tape and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, police said.
