A man who was allegedly wielding a brick or shovel was fatally shot by Anaheim police Monday near an elementary school.
Officers responded around 12:45 p.m. to the area of Falmouth Avenue and Holly Street to a report of a man armed with a brick, but it later appeared he was carrying a shovel, Anaheim police Sgt. Matt Sutter told reporters at the scene.
Nearby John Marshall Elementary School was placed on lockdown as police responded to the report.
Once on scene, an unknown confrontation occurred between the suspect and police, prompting at least one officer to open fire, striking the man, Sutter said. The suspect was taken to a hospital, where he died.
The suspect’s name was not immediately released. It was still unclear what prompted police to open fire.
No officers were injured.

When you have someone threatening police, they don’t, say. Wait I will shoot. Sometimes they all shoot. I remember how the media tried to make the police responsible for a woman death. She was in a vehicle, hot outside and someone reported it, because they thought she was dead. The police arrived at they tried getting her attention. She raised up and pointed a gun at them. I can’t remember but I think 4 officer shot her. She had an outstanding warrant for theft and drugs. Officer were on leave until report finished. Officer are not going to shoot someone unless necessary. It’s not safe for officer to get out of their units until they have run the license plates on vehicle. That doesn’t mean the vehicle is registered in drivers name. Drug Cartel buys vehicle and pays cash. The owner doesn’t realize that they are not getting to register the vehicle. They are going to drive it under the original owner name so they can haul drugs and human trafficking.
They don’t know the name of the person they fatally shot then why put it in the paper with absolutely no details.
