Long Beach Police Department officers are continuing their investigation Monday of a stabbing near the Lindbergh neighborhood west of North Long Beach.
Police were called at approximately 11:40 a.m. Saturday to a Long Beach hospital regarding a stabbing. When they arrived at the hospital, the officers interviewed a man who had taken himself to the hospital with a non-life-threatening stab wound to the upper body, according to the police department.
A preliminary investigation of the stabbing revealed that the victim was walking in the area of 5600 block of Linden Avenue when he was approached by two suspects. A brief altercation ensued and one of the suspects stabbed the victim, police said.
The suspects fled the scene prior to the arrival of the officers. The motive for the stabbing is under investigation.
