A 39-year-old woman who was struck and killed by a car in Long Beach was identified Tuesday.
Officers responded at approximately 12:16 p.m. Friday near Long Beach Boulevard and 68th Street, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Long Beach Fire Department paramedics arrived at the location a short time later and took the woman to a hospital, where she later died.
She was identified Tuesday by the Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner as Jasmine Martinez.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2018 Chevrolet Camaro was traveling southbound on Long Beach Boulevard in the far right lane moments before striking the woman, who was walking in a crosswalk on 68th Street and kept going.
The alleged driver, identified as Eric Dewayne Moody, was located about 40 minutes later and taken into custody. He was booked at the Long Beach City Jail, with bail set at $50,000.
Detectives have not determined whether drugs, alcohol, or speeding were factors leading to the collision.
