Two people suspected in the death of a man who was attacked in Anaheim and died at a Garden Grove hospital have been arrested in Texas, authorities said Wednesday.
On June 15, the victim, later identified as 65-year-old Tien Luu, was dropped off at a Garden Grove hospital “with injuries consistent with an assault,” according to the Anaheim Police Department.
“During the beginning stages of the investigation, it was discovered that Luu had been assaulted inside a residence located in the 1800 block of West Bernardy Place in the city of Anaheim,” according to a police statement.
Anaheim police homicide detectives took over the investigation on June 21, a day before Luu died of his injuries.
” After a 2-1/2-month investigation, Christopher Do, a 35-year-old Garden Grove resident, was identified as the suspect responsible for killing Luu,” police said. “Additionally, 37-year-old Brittany Vidal of Garden Grove was identified as an accessory to Luu’s murder.”
Both were located in Houston, Texas, where local police helped take Vidal into custody on Sept. 2. Do was arrested the next day. Both were extradited to California and were being held without bail at the Orange County Jail.
Detectives asked anyone with information about the circumstances surrounding Luu’s death to contact the Anaheim Police Department at 714-321-3669 or Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS.
