A man was struck and killed by a vehicle in Palm Springs, police announced Wednesday.
The collision was reported shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday near San Rafael Drive and Avenida Caballeros, according to the Palm Springs Police Department.
Paramedics attempted life-saving measures, but the man died at the scene, police said.
His name was withheld pending notification of relatives.
Police said the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
“Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor at this time,” the department said.
Eastbound and westbound lanes on E. San Rafael Drive and N. Avenida Caballeros were temporarily closed.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
