An investigation was underway Wednesday into the death of an 18-year-old man who was fatally struck by a vehicle in Desert Hot Springs.
Officers responded to a report at about 4:10 a.m. Tuesday at North Indian Canyon and Scenic drives regarding a pedestrian hit by a vehicle, according to the Desert Hot Springs Police Department.
They found a man in the roadway, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Riverside County coroner’s office identified the victim as Jaime Castro.
People from multiple vehicles stopped at the scene and contacted police regarding the crash.
