A 44-year-old homeless man walking in a Watts neighborhood was wounded be two men who got out of a vehicle and shot him, authorities said Monday.
The shooting occurred at about 10:15 a.m. Sunday at 99th Place and Laurel Street, near Jordan High School, said a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.
The victim ran away from the scene and was taken to a hospital by ambulance, he said. The man had stable vital signs.
The suspects fled after the shooting, the officer said.
