A young woman was shot in a foot at a residence in Pomona early Monday by a juvenile she knew and who remained at large, police said.
The shooting was reported about 12:35 a.m. in the 1400 block of Cobblestone Lane, according to Aly Mejia, spokeswoman for the Pomona Police Department.
The 19-year-old victim, who was taken to a hospital, was shot by a male youth who is known to her, Mejia said, adding that the shooting did not appear to be a case of domestic violence.
Mejia did not have an update on the woman’s condition.
A neighbor who spoke to a videographer at the scene said she heard a pop and the sound of a vehicle speeding away from the apartment complex where the shooting occurred.
