A suspect is in custody Tuesday in connection with allegedly starting a brush fire in Montecito Heights.
Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters responded at 8:49 p.m. Monday to 3963 E. Evadale Drive, south of Ernest E. Debs Regional Park where they were able to stop the forward progress of the approximately half-acre fire, said LAFD spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.
Los Angeles Police Department officers arrested the suspect based on bystander reports of seeing them commit the arson, LAFD officials said. No injuries were reported.
