A 37-year-old man suspected of inappropriate physical contact with a Murrieta girl was out of custody Wednesday while an investigation into the alleged offenses continued.
Joshua Alan Richie of Murrieta was arrested and booked into the Byrd Detention Center earlier this month on suspicion of sexual battery and annoying a minor. Richie posted a $5,000 bond and was released from custody on Oct. 10.
According to the Murrieta Police Department, officers received reports on Oct. 8 that the suspect had allegedly made overtures and intimately touched the victim, whose identity wasn’t disclosed.
Specific details were not provided.
After questioning Richie two days later, detectives took him into custody without incident at his Date Street residence, police said. The suspect immediately posted bond.
