An investigation continued Friday into the death of a man in his 50s who was found on a sidewalk in Sylmar.
Officers were called about 8:55 a.m. Thursday to the 13600 block of Sayre Street, a couple of blocks from the Foothill (210) Freeway, where the body was discovered, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the LAPD.
In the early minutes of the investigation Thursday, an LAPD spokesman had said the decedent was a woman in her 40s. However, the medical examiner’s office on Friday confirmed the decedent was in fact a male in his 50s.
There was no immediate evidence of foul play, police said.
