A member of the Los Angeles Fire Department was being evaluated for an unspecified minor injury after a big rig carrying pressurized propane rolled over Saturday morning on a freeway transition road in Boyle Heights, authorities said.

Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched at 4:59 a.m. Saturday to the transition road from the southbound Golden State (5) Freeway to the eastbound Pomona (60) Freeway, the LAFD reported.

The driver of the truck was being medically evaluated at the scene and his condition was not immediately provided.

It was determined that there was no active leak of the product and the vessel could be safely uprighted without off-loading the propane fuel, according to the fire department.

“The CHP (California Highway Patrol) will utilize private contractors for repositioning the vessel as well as scene clean up,” the LAFD’s Jennifer Middleton said.

A Sigalert issued at 5:14 a.m. closing the transition road was canceled at 9:45 a.m.
