A man who killed himself with a gunshot to his head at a home in the Windsor Square neighborhood of Los Angeles where a woman was also fatally shot was identified by county authorities Wednesday.

Jack Risemberg, 39, died on Oct. 23, according to the Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner, which ruled the death a suicide.

Also killed was 34-year-old Jenna Baeza, who died from a gunshot wound to the neck. The manner of death in her case was homicide.

Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Wilshire area station were called to the 200 block of North Ridgewood Place between Beverly Boulevard and First Street at approximately 11:45 p.m. on Oct. 22 regarding a shooting and found a man and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds, LAPD Lt. Sean Kinchla of the department’s Robbery Homicide Division told reporters.

The victims were pronounced dead after midnight at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics.

Kinchla said a second woman, reported to be 70, was also wounded in the shooting and was taken to a hospital, but she was expected to survive.

The relationship between the victims and Risemberg was not disclosed.

A handgun police believe was used in the shooting was recovered at the scene.

The case was being investigated by homicide detectives from the LAPD West Bureau, Kinchla said.
