A 17-year-old boy was shot to death in Jurupa Valley, but no suspects were immediately identified, authorities said Thursday.
The fatal attack happened shortly after 9 p.m. Wednesday in the 5900 block of Scheelite Street, less than a block from Pedley Elementary School, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Sgt. Alberto Loureiro said that patrol deputies were called to the location to investigate reports of an assault and discovered the teenager, identified only as a Jurupa Valley teen, mortally wounded from a gunshot.
The victim was taken to a Riverside hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, Loureiro said.
“No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing,” he said.
A possible motive was not disclosed.
