Authorities sought the public’s assistance Thursday in locating three men suspected of burglarizing a pharmacy in Pico Rivera after a failed attempt at a previous pharmacy in Whittier.
The suspects attempted forced entry around 2:11 a.m. Tuesday through the front doors of Mulberry Pharmacy in the 15000 block of Mulberry Drive, but after the failed attempts, left the location to park in front of W&P Pharmacy in the 9200 block of Whittier Boulevard in Pico Rivera, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Two suspects got out of the vehicle while a third acted as a lookout.
Sheriff’s officials said the suspects then used a hand-held machine-powered reciprocating saw to make forced entry through the steel rolled-up door at the front of the business. One of the suspects entered the business, allegedly took several bottles of prescription medication, before all three suspects fled heading westbound on Whittier Boulevard.
”This location has been victimized multiple times,” the sheriff’s department said in a statement.
Investigators from the Major Crimes Bureau are handling the case and reviewing surveillance footage along with other evidence.
Anyone with information regarding the burglary, the identification, or the location of the suspects was urged to call the Major Crimes Bureau at 562-946-7893. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or visit lacrimestoppers.org.
