Police Friday are searching for a suspect who allegedly stabbed a man during a robbery that police are calling a hate crime at a Metro bus stop in the Vermont Knolls neighborhood of Los Angeles.
Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to calls of a stabbing at a bus stop at Figueroa and 80th streets at 10:46 p.m. Thursday where they learned the suspect approached the victim, robbed him of a necklace and stabbed him, an LAPD spokesman told City News Service.
The victim was treated at the scene and then taken to a hospital in stable condition, LAPD Officer Rosario Cervantes told City News Service.
The suspect ran away from the scene before the officers arrived, Cervantes said.
