A 45-year-old man was convicted Monday of molesting two girls he was related to a decade apart in Santa Ana.
Eulalio Najera Benitez was convicted of six counts of lewd or lascivious acts with a minor younger than 14 and a count of sexual intercourse or sodomy with a child 10 years old or younger, all felonies. Jurors also found true a sentencing enhancement for multiple victims.
One of the girls was molested, starting in third grade when she was 9 years old in 2010 and continued until she was 19, according to testimony from police at his preliminary hearing. The other girl was molested, starting when she was about 5 years old in 2021, police said.
Benitez was scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 5.
