A piece of possible military ordnance that turned out to be inert was found near a freeway off-ramp in Van Nuys Wednesday morning, prompting a bomb squad response.
The item was found at about 8 a.m. Wednesday in the area of Lemay Street and Haskell Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
A stretch of Haskell Avenue was shut down between Vanowen Street and Victory Boulevard as an LAPD bomb squad investigated.
