A hit and run collision involving a fire hydrant in Tarzana left the roof of a gas station collapsed Friday.

Los Angeles Fire Department Fire Department personnel were called at 5:24 a.m. to 18500 W. Ventura Blvd. near Garden Grove Avenue where they found the intersection flooded, a water geyser from the hydrant shooting into the air and the gas station’s awning and a gas pump damaged, said LAPD spokeswoman Jennifer Middleton.

Middleton said motorists should expect traffic delays due to the flooded intersection, which is impassable, said LAFD

The LAFD and officials from the Department of Transportation are controlling/diverting traffic at the scene and no injuries have been reported.
