Firefighters and paramedics rushed two people to a trauma center Sunday after their vehicle went approximately 70 feet down over the side of a cliff near Sylmar, authorities said.

The crews — with the assistance of the Los Angeles County Fire Department — were dispatched at 4:22 a.m. to 13119 N. Kagel Canyon Road, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.

An air ambulance hoisted the two people from the wreckage — a 35-year-old woman in serious condition and a 35-year-old man with stable vital signs — and transported them directly to a trauma center.
