A 57-year-old man who was fatally shot in Moreno Valley was identified Friday as a resident of the city.
Deputies responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon shortly before 9:40 p.m. Thursday in the 13000 block of Heacock Street, near Eucalyptus Ave and Sunnymead Middle School, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.
Upon arrival, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, authorities said.
Paramedics performed live-saving measures but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim was identified as Cesar Gaitan.
No arrests have been made.
