The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped Sunday for the 19th time in 20 days, decreasing a half-cent to $4.554.
The average price has dropped 21.4 cents over the past 20 days, including 1.5 cents Saturday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It is 7.8 cents less than one week ago, but 4.1 cents more than one month ago and 21.9 cents higher than one year ago. It has dropped $1.819 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price dropped for the 10th consecutive day, decreasing seven-tenths of a cent to $3.005. It has dropped 9.5 cents over the past 10 days, including 1 cent Saturday.
The streak of dropping national prices follows a four-day streak of increases totaling 2.8 cents.
The national average price is 6.7 cents less than one week ago, 3.3 cents less than one month ago and 5.2 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $2.011 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
