A hiker who was found unconscious by mountain bikers on a trail in La Quinta Tuesday has died, authorities said.
The discovery was reported at 9:48 a.m. Tuesday, 2.3 miles up the Boo Hoff Trail, according to the Riverside County Fire Department. The agency said its personnel along with a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department aviation unit responded to the scene.
The cause of the victim’s death was not immediately clear, and no further information was immediately available.
