A pair of Claremont restaurants were burglarized Thursday and a pair of suspects were taken into custody after allegedly carrying out a similar heist in Upland.
According to the Claremont Police Department, burglaries were carried out Thursday at Euro Cafe, 546 E. Baseline Road, and Rincon Azteca, 586 E. Baseline Road.
Officers investigating the Claremont heists determined that a similar burglary had taken place in Upland, where police apprehended two suspects who were later determined to be responsible for the Claremont crimes, police said.
Robert Smith, 32, of Lancaster, and Jacqueline Smith, 37, of Upland, were both booked into the West Valley Detention Center, police said. Bail information was not immediately available.
It was unclear if the suspects are related.
Claremont police on Thursday also announced the arrest of another suspect allegedly responsible for the Nov. 17 burglary at Los Jarritos Restaurant at 921 W. Foothill Blvd.
Aaron Jason Land, 54, of Pomona, was identified as a suspect thanks to video surveillance, and was arrested Wednesday, police said. He was cited and released, but was immediately taken into custody by Glendora police for allegedly carrying out another burglary in that city.
