A man who was found fatally stabbed in a North Hollywood park was identified Thursday by county authorities.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office identified Marvin Rivas 29, as the victim.

Los Angeles Police Department officers from the North Hollywood Division responded at 8 p.m. Tuesday to a stabbing call near Whitsett Avenue and Vanowen Street near the Whitsett Field Park and the Hollywood (170) Freeway, an LAPD spokesman told City News Service.

Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded to the park, where they found Rivas, who police said was homeless, with stab wounds to the side of the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

There was no suspect information.
