An 86-year-old man died Thursday in a hospital after sustaining injuries in a two-vehicle collision in Cathedral City.
The crash was reported around 4:20 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Date Palm and Tachevah drives, according to the Cathedral City Police Department.
Upon arrival, officers found two vehicles with significant damage, and both drivers were taken to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs for complaints of pain.
Raymond Johnson of Cathedral City was pronounced dead by hospital staff shortly before 1 a.m. Thursday, police said.
The department was asking anyone who witnessed the collision to contact Officer Jeff Bird at 760-770-0332, or at jbird@cathedralcity.gov.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
