Detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriffs’ Department’s Missing Persons Unit are seeking the public’s help Friday in locating an at-risk 68-year-old man who authorities say suffers from a mental health disorder and was reported missing in Santa Clarita.

John L Brown was last seen on Thursday at 11 a.m. on the 19000 block of Mesa of the Oaks, north of Avenue of the Oaks, the Sheriff’s Information Bureau said.

Brown is Black, 6-foot-tall, 180 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue sweater, a silver cross necklace, blue pants and black sandals.

Brown was last seen driving a 2016 dark blue Dodge Ram 1500, with a California license plate CA64863C2, authorities said.

The Silver Alert, which was issued by the California Highway Patrol on behalf of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, is also in effect in Kern, Tulare, Kings and Ventura counties.
