Police Monday requested the public’s assistance in locating the person responsible for the fatal shooting of two people last summer near the South Park area of Los Angeles.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired at 12:15 a.m. June 2, 2024, at Maple Avenue and 12th Street, where 18-year-old Christian Hart and 20-year-old Clarence Simpson sustained fatal injuries, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

There has been no information released about a possible motive for the attack.

“The city of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Police Department are seeking to provide Simpson’s and Hart’s family with justice and closure for the loss of their family member and are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the persons responsible for this senseless murder,” the department said in a statement.

The Los Angeles City Council is offering a $75,000 reward for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the suspect.

Investigators have identified two suspect vehicles possibly involved in the double homicide. The first vehicle was described as a white 2009-2012 Audi A4 with tinted windows, while the second was a gold 2011-2016 BMW 5 Series, also with tinted windows.
