A woman was wounded in a shooting at Leon H. Washington Park in the Florence-Graham neighborhood of South Los Angeles and an investigation of the incident is underway Wednesday.
Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriffs’ Department’s Century Station responded at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday to Maie Avenue and Firestone Boulevard near the park regarding a shooting. When they arrived at the scene, the deputies found the woman suffering a gunshot wound, a Century Station spokesman told City News Service.
The victim was taken to a hospital by Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics and is in stable condition.
There was no suspect description.
