A 19-year-old man was shot to death during a gang-related, drive-by shooting in the unincorporated South Whittier area, authorities said Sunday.
The shooting was reported at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday in the 10000 block of Mills Avenue, near Mulberry Drive, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The victim and two juveniles were walking northbound on Mills Avenue where an occupant from a passing vehicle fired shots at them, authorities said. The suspects fled the scene in their vehicle, heading southbound on Mills.
The 19-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the two other victims were unharmed, according to sheriff’s officials.
