A suspect was struck by deputy gunfire Sunday in the La Puente area of Los Angeles County.
The man was shot around 5:50 p.m. Sunday in the 500 block of Workman Mill Road, east of the California Country Club golf course and the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies rendered medical aid to the suspect, who was transported in unknown condition to a nearby hospital by Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel.
The sheriff’s department did not explain what the man was suspected of having done, nor what prompted the gunfire.
It was unclear how many deputies used their service weapons, and unclear how many shots were fired.
