A 92-year-old woman who was killed in a two-vehicle collision in Palm Springs was identified Tuesday as a resident of the city.

The crash was reported shortly before 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of South El Cielo Road and Kirk Douglas Way, according to the Palm Springs Police Department.

A white Mazda was traveling northbound at South El Cielo Road when a gray Honda traveling south attempted to “make an eastbound left turn and entered the path of the Mazda,” police said.

The Honda driver was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, where she later died from her injuries.

The Riverside County coroner’s office identified the deceased as Dell Morgan.

The Mazda driver cooperated with investigators at the scene. Drugs and/or alcohol did not appear to be contributing factors in the collision, the department said.

Anyone with additional information regarding the crash was asked to contact the department’s Traffic Division at 760-323-8125.
