A 65-year-old man was killed when he was struck by a vehicle while walking across a street in the Florence area of Los Angeles.
The crash was reported at 5:49 p.m. Sunday at San Pedro and 83rd streets, according to a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman.
The vehicle was northbound on San Pedro Street when it struck the man who was westbound inside a crosswalk, he said.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver remained at the scene, he said.
The pedestrian’s name was not released pending positive identification and notification of relatives.
