A Metro A Line train and a pickup truck collided in Central Los Angeles Wednesday morning, causing the train to derail.
The collision was reported at 4:16 a.m. at the intersection of East Washington Boulevard and San Pedro Street, just south of the Santa Monica (10) Freeway, according to an officer with the Los Angeles Police Department, which was doing traffic control at the location.
Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded, but did not take anyone to a hospital.
The driver of the involved vehicle declined treatment, according to an LAFD spokeswoman.
Video from the location showed the vehicle in front of the train, which was off the track.
Service on Metro’s A Line was disrupted between the Washington and Grand stations with bus shuttles replacing train service at the San Pedro Station, according to Metro.
Service on the E-Line was also affected as both lines share a single track at the Pico Station, according to Metro.
An estimate on how long the disruption would last was not immediately available, according to the agency.
