A 15-year-old boy was trapped and critically injured in a two-vehicle crash on northbound Golden State (5) Freeway near Griffith Park Saturday evening.
Firefighters responded shortly before 8:20 p.m. near Los Feliz Boulevard to reports of a two-vehicle traffic crash into a center divider involving a trapped victim, according to Lyndsey Lantz of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The boy was taken to a hospital in critical condition after being freed from the wreckage, which took about 12 minutes.
It remains unclear what led up to the collision.
